The Entrepreneur Unleashed With Patti Keating. Mindset & Business Growth For Coaches & Creatives.

Nellie Akalp is a mom of four, serial entrepreneur and CEO of CorpNet.com where she helps entrepreneurs start, grow and maintain their businesses. She is a contributor to Forbes, Entrepreneur and Mashable and is a regular guest expert on the Fox Small Business Center.

Her first venture grew and expanded to the point that the company was acquired in 2005 and rather than simply taking a retirement they launched corpnet.com in 2009. Corpnet is designed to manage and setup businesses to keep compliant with the latest regulations.
Challenge:
With the first business venture the company grew so quickly that they were shocked. Learning and growing all at the same time they had to use their Mother-In-Law's credit card machine to process orders and even going as far as being left Credit Card information on their voicemail. Having to react quickly and always be on the move.

Now with Corpnet we are in an environment that is pretty saturated and it is proving difficult to expand, but it's still a wonderful experience.
Lessons Learned
With the current business, analytics are super important, staying on top of them and seeing where your clients are coming from is a huge deal. Also, by looking at the old business and the new business its that you can look to the past, but what worked then doesn't always work now. Social media is also important, its a great way to keep up with your clients and your followers. Marketing and advertising was a surprise in that by reducing the expense on advertising my income still increased.
Passion:
The legal space is showing a ton of opportunity. We're honing into what the needs of the market are showing.
Vision
Knowing that there is a ton of opportunity in the legal space we are looking at better automation and streamlining the whole processes that are out there. Were looking to do what it is that will make a significant value for the community. Looking to simplify and help others to maximize their time.
Personal Growth
Nelli says she has become a better communicator and learned to set boundaries and figure out a better way to determine the line for personal and professional relationships.
Gadgets and Gizmos
My iPhone is my BFF - a 1 stop shop for staying connected and running the business.
Inspiration
A book called Delivering Happiness by the CEO of Zappos.com - now a days we are in a service based industry, and its so important to differentiate yourself and create the niche and stand out. This book is all about creating such amazing customer service and how to best provide that.
Looking Back:
I would do everything nearly the same. I would maybe change a few things just on a few of the decision, but I would do my best to keep to the same path and keep working hard to make things better.

Andrea Waltz is the co-author of the best-selling book, Go for No! Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There. Along with her partner Richard Fenton, they teach business owners, salespeople, and entrepreneurs how to overcome fears of failure, rejection, and how to "LOVE" the word No! It's a bit counter-intuitive and it works. People feel excited to build their business when NO is no longer an obstacle.
Inspiration:
She and her husband were mostly inspired by their respective day jobs back in the late nineties. Thye were discouraged from going outside their boxes and wanted to expand and started by writing their first book. Unlocking the Secrets of Retail Magic. They did so well a few years after that they wrote Go for No. Doing this was the biggest way to expand their experience and grow.
Challenge:
Andrea found that the obstacles that she created for herself were just as bad as the things that you cant control. Things outside of your control are the subtle challenges but the challenges that she experiences are the same that everybody is experiencing daily. Ultimately dealing with getting into the market was one of the biggest hurdles. A mass of direct mailing and marketing was the only method to grow her business and that was one of the hardest things she's ever had to do.
Lessons Learned
Things take longer than we want them to, and we anticipate the oposite. One thing i learned while working with franklin covey, only plan up to 60% of your day, if you fill your whole day you won't get anything done when the little fires come up that you have to take care of.
Passion:
Andrea is currently in the process of writing a Paranormal Suspense series for young adults. All of the books that she and her husband are writing are fables with underlying messages and inspirational underpinnings. This is on top of working with Go For No
Vision
Andrea wants to continue to grow go for no, She's sold enough copies now that we ended up in a good conversation with simon and schuster and while they initially told us that we weren't going big enough. Since then 300,000 copies have been sold, without their help. She wants to see 1 million copies and then finish the series that is currently in progress.
Advice:
Andrea's advise came from the gentleman that marketed for Larry Winget. She sat down for a day after winning a charity auction and he lead her to the realization that she could actually dictate how to do things. That she can be clear to her clients and then everything would line up the way they wanted.
Personal Growth
One of the things that Andrea finds most enjoyable is reading as much as possible. Much of her growth comes from within with Go for No.

The Four Agreements - its all about not taking things personally, communicating your needs and wants, and being honest. In studying this it was all translated into Go For No and that has lead to richer quality and integrity from the program.
Gadgets and Gizmos
Andrea loves her rolodex, the physical aspect is her favorite, she can flip through and feel the cards and loves to look at the cards.

Followup.cc - forward any email to a certain day or time and a reminder email is sent at a specified date. providing a less to do list system.

Twitter - a great resource to find new and exciting people.

Andrea loves to read sales blogs - Jill Konrath - speaker and author. Weather you want tips on marketing or your linkedin profile she is great.

Journalist, publicist, author, and entrepreneur Hope Katz Gibbs started her career as a newspaper and magazine reporter and now takes on the PR sector with Inkandescent Group, LLC. Her mission is to inspire and educate entrepreneurs. Using her playbook, she helps entrepreneurs polish their message, create growth strategies, and grow their companies!

Hope started as a newspaper and magazine writer and worked for many national magazines and papers. She figured out that if she switched to the other side of the story telling world and get paid doing it she would be set for life.
Inspiration:
Hope says she loves helping people. Over the course of the years of owning The Inkandescent Group she has changed the definition of helping, but the bottom line was that she wanted to help anybody in any way.
Challenge:
Originally it seemed to her that people would have their arms open and would like to receive assistance. Hope soon came across what she would call, "The Trifecta of Small-Business Failure". These are three things that all businesses do. First is: 'I do this all by myself, you're not the boss of me'. Second, a lot of small business members don't understand the icing and cake metaphor. Thirdly is the "win, win, win" metaphor. I win you loose and my business grows is the original system. it really should be more of a "I win, you win, the world wins".
Overcoming Challenges:
Tapping into a deep sense of compassion was one of the easiest ways to get around and through 'The Trifecta'.
Lessons:
Allowing people to come to her for help, holding her energy back and not give it all up right away.
Passion:
The new Richmond office that is opening in November is a huge thing for me and my group. We are all working together as small businesses and this is something that will make that even better. It's really just the start of growing the Incandescent Group.
Vision:
"Just sticking with it and rolling out what I have. I am excited to get the message in my new book into as many hands as possible."
Advice:
When working for the city of Fairfax an incredibly wise man gave her the advise, "If its something you can't handle, just put it down." Being a father figure to so many people it was one of those 'tell-it-like-it-is' experiences that stuck with Hope.
Personal Growth
"Courage: I think that all of us know what we can be, and what stops and stumps us is fear." One of Hope's good friends recently noted that, 'Gosh, you're afraid of things, but you just do them anyway!' Getting through it, in spite of the fear is an amazing feeling.
Gadgets and Tools
Laptop 'is my best friend'

Back in 2006 Hope worked to learn how to complete the front side of her website and continued to use TextPattern to continue to build websites.

Jeffrey Tinsley, Founder and CEO of MyLife.com, is a serial Internet entrepreneur. Through his direction MyLife.com has grown to over 60 million members and become one of the most visited sites on the web. Make sure you tune in to hear his story on how a rare blend of strategic vision in the Internet space coupled with technology and marketing savvy, named him Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Jeff started his first business at the age of 17. He has created created new markets through innovation.
Inspiration:
Originally this company was founded as reunion.com and the service has changed so much since then. Jeff started out by signing up for something like the Classmates.com site and was amazed by the ability to re-connect with old friends. Since the appearance and success of sites like Facebook Classmates.com evolved to manage information about online privacy and identity.
Challenge:
People are extremely concerned about how they look online about their privacy. Many people just dont realize how much information is out there from so many sites. Half of the population knows this, but the other half has no idea. The set of information that is exposed is so shocking. There are over 100 different sites to find out where somebody lives, their address, and even run a background check on yourself or others. People use this information to stalk, harass, and even market to. Personal safety is even on the line. and all of that is MyLife.com
Obstacles
one of the biggest really was the launch of facebook. internally part of the culture of mylife.com is to always evolve and shift and go after new opportunities. we have a splendid culture that attempts to shift and move to where our customers are. Internally there were still the occasional road bumps that would allow a company that is not insignificant in size to see the changes and follow that path as it shifts and moves along the horizon.
Lessons
One thing is that Jeff has to be sure he is completely crystal clear to his staff on the paths that they are going down to be sure that they are going in the right direction and even just to have weekly meetings to keep the mission and clarity on track.
Passion:
Jeff finds most of his passion and is fortunate to have a fantastic family. Right now he finds that everything he is doing right now is just so unique and he can find great pleasure in what he does in his day-to-day life.
Vision
there is so much more to do with the core service that mylife.com is providing. We're so focused on what the needs of our customers are and will be and be sure that we can keep up with the demand of evolution and shifting things around as they need to change. Even as much to look to taking the company public.
Advice:
"One thing that someone once told me never give away what you are in the business of making money from." Many companies undervalue what they are providing to their customer and at the end of the day you really do need to stay in service. you shouldn't be ashamed to sell your product rather than give it away.
Personal Growth
Running a company is more challenging that it might seem. Jeff says its important to keep you head on straight and look to the future and keep believing in the ability to make things better than they were before.
Tools and Resources
The Mylife mobile application is actually a useful way to bring all of your social media and emails and chats into one place. messagehubapp.com thats out right now and more is coming soon.

Skype is turning out to be pretty good!
Blogs, Books & Podcasts:
The Stanford Tech Venture Program articles are wonderful to read.

Peter Thiel has a great amount of information about focusing on markets where you could be a virtual monopoly. As well as many other great books and resources.
Looking Back:

Emilie Shoop is the “go to” leadership girl when you want to learn how to maximize the efforts of your team the right way so you go from just being another manager to being an influential leader.

Emilie works with people who are ready for that next level of success, and realize how they work with people is key. Her coaching will help you take your leadership full throttle!
Inspiration:
To get into the industry she started her career as a network engineer, being the go-to-gal for the IT department. She was loving the people aspects and centered around that. When she started out on her own she was coming from a world where everybody hated where they worked. Emilie knew right away that she could make an impact on that part of the workspace.

She ultimately felt that if she was going to go to work she wanted to be sure that she was doing what was the best for herself and her family. Quickly she realized being on her own was what was going to be the best impact for her family.
Challenge:
When she first left her job she was leaving behind 15 years of business life and started by modeling that off of that experience. She started by trying to blend into the existing space and wasn't helping anything. She also spent too much time hanging out in the wrong groups. Specifically where there weren't large economic pools to draw from for clients.
Overcoming:
Emilie started out looking at the groups and seeing how they were suggesting to do things, cold calls, and blind marketing. Ultimately none of that appeared to work. And so she started looking at it from a different perspective and pushed that it was more important to be a good leader in the market and create a solution that was good for yourself, and not what should have worked for everybody else.
Lessons Learned:
The biggest lesson that Emilie says she has learned is the being herself is the best thing she could ever do for her business.
Passion:
Emilie loves working in her business and started by focusing her efforts on workshops and training. But what she loves the most is the one-on-one approach and helping to develop great leaders. She is continually learning and growing in that space and looks toward perfecting that.
Vision:
Emilie is working hardest on growing and figuring out how to reach and impact more and more clients. She is working in different platforms and finding ways to collaborate with her peers and continue to grow.
Advice:
"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should." It's easy to fall into the traps that will slow you down when you try to control every aspect of your own business. It can even bleed over into your clients, and while you can do other things for your customers and clients, stay inside your own wheel house and focus on that one true focus.
Personal Growth:
A good portion of Emilie's personal growth started when she began winding down in the corporate space. Eventually she was able to find her core and realize who she was and who she wanted to be. It took some time, but it was leaving the companies behind that helped her the most.
Gadgets and Gizmos
Buffer - A great way to always be there on social media. You don't have to focus on all of the different platforms.
Blogs, Books & Podcasts:
Emilie Loves the Entrepreneur Unleashed!

Relaunch - We all start over at some point.

Marie Forleo's Quick Videos - Spot on for whatever I need at that moment.

All In - Arlene Dickinson Emilie syas that this book really talks about the entrepreneurs journey. An excellent reminder that just because you are an entrepreneur, not everyone understands just what it is like to love your business.
Looking Back:
Emilie says she would go back and just tell herself there is nothing wrong with her past self.

Susan Baroncini-Moe is this week's guest. She spends her days as an Entrepreneur and Executive coach. Working at writing and improving herself. She paid her way through graduate school by teaching web-design and converting printed materials and helping companies take their printed material and begin selling it as marketable materials online.
Inspiration:
The work Susan was doing early in her life was extremely keyboard intensive. However it was starting to affect the health of her wrists. The doctors told her either change the career or it would be surgery. So she hung up the keyboard and became one of the first successful coaches out there. Rather quickly she was able to start attracting clients that aligned best with her earlier experience with web-design and web-presence.
Challenge:
Businesses tend to grow slower than you might want. Susan found that almost right away and along with that the recession was starting right when she was getting rolling. Susan felt that one of the biggest hurdles was her own personal 'brain junk'. Things like self-doubt and second guessing herself were some of the biggest challenges. She also fights against her ADHD, which only seems to be getting worse. Her Assistant helps keep her on task and nailed down so that she can work through any challenge that comes up.
Passion:
Susan is most passionate about her clients and working in the 'brain junk' space. She spends a good amount of time quantifying and analyzing the data in the digital market space so that she can make real improvements
Vision
Susan doesn't think that she needs to dominate the world. it would be nice, but not what she is really looking for. She likes the idea of live events, but is currently shying away. Ultimately her goal is to continue to build the brand and grow her business. She wants to keep investing in herself and her business and her team.
Advice:
"Do what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it." - Larry Winget

"Or faster, or better!" is Susan's little addition to that. It's important that people get the results they are looking for, simply by doing exactly that.
Personal Growth
With every year that goes by Susan feels more and more humble, but even more confident. she has come to know that the business isn't just for her, but to help create the life that can be possible.
Gadgets & Tools
Susan has a love/hate relationship going on with technology. "[It's] become so ingrained in our lives that we are loosing ourselves in the gadgets."

That being said, Susan's phone is attached to her at all times and she would be lost without her MacBook Pro. They are the ultimate tools that she cant live without.
Looking Back:
Susan says simply, "Hang in there, don't worry and honestly when success comes it doesn't mean you don't have to be frugal!" Remember to get your finances managed and don't squander your resources.
books blogs podcasts
Mike Michalowicz - Profit First a fantastic book on accounting. Not only is it captivating, it's a very unique approach and it's a really great resource.

Bob Burg - The Go-Giver Series

Anything by Larry Winget Grow A Pair is an excellent choice.

and of course Susan's own book - Business in Blue Jeans

Shane Snow has a great book called Smartcuts that is simply a phenomenal book.

Charles Gaudet is widely recognized as a leading business coach for entrepreneurs who aren’t willing to settle for mediocre profits - and want to out-think, out-market, and out-earn their competition. He is the driving force behind marketing strategies that have earned as much as 6-figures within just 24 hours! Charles' website is Predictable Profits

"Out Think, Out Profit, Out Earn!" - Charles Gaudet
Inspiration:
"Freud would probably have a field day on me."

Charles' father owned his own business and there were times he would come home and he would tell Charles, "Kid, if you ever want to make it for yourself you have to start your own business." also "Hey Kid, I want you to remember one thing. Employees suck. Don't ever be an employee." Charles does say that he does disagree in part as focusing on the idea that everybody works with you, not for you. When Charles started selling artwork to his neighbors it started him on the path due in part to the feeling of satisfaction from getting the approval of his father.
Challenge:
Charles found himself quickly in a vast amount of debt, personal relationships were shot, and he was working nearly every waking hour every day of the week. Lack of sleep and pains all over his body were the signs of over stress and the doctors started to say that the stress was going to kill him.

Charles didn't really think that it wasn't out of the norm to be doing what he was.
Passion:
Charles is highly passionate with his children and spending time with his family. He loves to live life to the fullest. His son and daughter both have their own businesses with cards and stationary.
Advice:
The best business advise that Charles ever received he says was from about 20 years ago. At the time he wanted to create a new business. He went to meet with his mentor at the time and he said, "Charlie, it doesn't matter, you're so focused on the idea. The idea DOESN'T matter, you could sell paper-clips, if you make the best paper-clip to market and show people that you can do it in a unique a more beneficial way you will create a million dollar business in no time."
Blogs, Books & Podcasts:
The Predictable Profits Playbook - Charles Gaudet
Looking Back:
Charles says if he had to do it all over again he would focus on working smart. Really focusing in on that whole concept. Marketing and innovation is the only thing that grows a business, everything else is an expense.

Kelly Fidel, CEO of No Glass Ceiling™, has developed the “winning formula”; taking her own insider secrets and strategies used in the boardroom to create a “level playing field” for entrepreneurs to profit wildly. Kelly candidly shares what works, what doesn’t and how to harness lucrative NEW Profit Channels. The End Goal? PLAY A BIGGER GAME & PROFIT WILDLY!

"Every woman deserves to live her own life without a permission slip." - Kelly Fidel
Inspiration:
Kelly had a great career and worked in fortune 100 boardrooms, but was often seeing people struggling for no reason. It always stuck with her that there was really no reason for that to happen. She later built and sold a few companies and realized that this could really make money and started out on her own.
Challenge:
About 20 years ago is when Kelly really had the idea for No Glass Ceiling. Her mother really pushed her to go for it and start things. Life was happening and one day she reached for her cell phone and collided with a tree at 50 miles per hour. She had to relearn how to walk and talk and live her life.

Kelly later learned, in four months, what was normally an 18 month experience, Kelly became more clear on what was an acceptable compromise and what she would NEVER again sacrifice.
Passion:
Winning Football Games! - Growing the membership at No Glass Ceiling to help people move the dial in the business. You may not be able to have it all, but you can have what you want.

Kelly has a vision for the next five years of maintaining an Exit Strategy. Allowing her to use her business as a platform to keep things running for the future and providing support for the market.
Advice:
Don’t worry about being clear on the purpose or strategy. Growth starts with what the outcome target is. Reverse engineer your years so that you know what you can create.
Entrepreneurs Resource:
Kelly ran seven figure businesses on PayPal, Aweber and LeadPages. Now what she uses WordPress with WishList Member™ and that goes into two cart systems; 1 Shopping Cart and PayPal Pro. Zapier is a magic tool that integrates with everything. Trello (project management tools) and my library card. The Library provides free access to databases that you would have to pay thousands of dollars for in any other format.
Blogs, Books & Podcasts:
TED Talks - A Fabulous way to learn, Kelly is a self-proclaimed TED Freak.

The Wisdom of Crowds - James Surowiecki - what's fascinating is that anything to do with crowd source or funding can be discovered here.

Break Out! - Joel Osteen

Oprah Though Kelly admits she prefers the 'old' Oprah to the 'new' Oprah.

Selling to Big Companies - Jill Konrath Well, anything by Jill is a wonder. Jill is the Godmother of selling to corporate clients and big ticket sales.

Kelly loves any leadership style books. But what bothers her is that a large number of the books are all writen by and for men.
Looking Back:
Kelly says, "Go have lunch with Katherine Hepburn while she was still alive, she was a person just like you. It's okay to be afraid, JUMP. God keeps good records, he has your back and nothing bad is going to happen.

Inspiration:

Demand from his clients was what really drove Jim into entrepreneurship. Preferring the title of Small Business Owner over CEO. Family and fun are his biggest inspirations and he loves adventure.

Challenge:

The biggest obstacles were limiting to single platforms. It was amazingly hard to build their business on somebody else's business (Facebook). Now he has made things more platform agnostic and now things are much less stressful.

Passion:

Change and Evolution - The market is ever changing and its how Jim thrives.

Advice:

Ben Chestnut of MailChimp fame once told him to never worry about anything but the product. Focus on the product. Its so easy to go down the path of spending everything on ads for traffic and visuals.

Entrepreneurs Resource:

Jim lives off of lists, Uses Wunderlist on the iPhone and Computer.

Siri - She is a great person to yell at in the middle of the night when the thoughts are fleeting and she listens to everything for you.

Blogs, Books & Podcasts:

Jim doesn't read a whole lot of books, but consumes mostly via blogs and email.

Steve Krug's - Don't Make Me Think - Was written as something to read on a single flight, its about user testing and user experience. A fascinating read.

Most people don't even know they are a world changer. They can change lives and never know it. Stephanie Calahan thinks is a blessing to work with these individuals who make a big difference, and has made it her goal to help others make an impact as well.
Inspiration:
After years of working as a consultant with fortune 100 and 50 companies, she often thought she would retire working for someone else. In 2001, due to major shifts in the environment of the company she was working for she realized it was negatively affecting her health, and soon the negatives outweighed the positives and something had to change.

Challenge:
Stephanie felt she is her own biggest obstacle. She feels that she was a hard-worker and a fast learner. She calls her self a work-addict. Even knowing this while she built her business, she went out and volunteered and took on more than she could handle. Looking around she realized she had nothing to show, but plaques and awards on the wall. Finally, admitting to herself that there was a problem and that her illness was self inflicted. She found help, and was able to redefine and redesign her entire life.

Passion:
SUMMER! Stephanie loves going outside and enjoying the world. She is most passionate about helping people get past their own obstacles.

Advice:
Be true to yourself! Everybody says they know their truth and they know what they need to do, but somehow there is something in the back of their mind that tells them that it wouldn't ever work that way. It is COMPLETELY possible to build a business that is successful just by listening to yourself.

What happens when you lose everything and find yourself at rock bottom? Jon Tarr shares how he turned it all around. Jon now owns 4 eight-figure businesses and tells us why true success in business all comes down to 5th grade math!

Inspiration:
Jon's dad told him that when you take on the management for someone else's business you get 100% of the responsibly and 100% of the headache. He decided to NEVER work for someone else.
Challenge:
During the market downturn Jon's turned in his hummer lease, lost his house, closed his radio show and used his bike to get around. He pulled through and rebuilt, now owning 4 eight figure businesses.
Passion:
Jon loves teaching people the 3 things that matter in business, that no one ever tells you. He boils it all down to so that the guessing and drama are removed form your business.

1. What is your front end customer worth?

2. What is the lifetime value of that customer?

3. How much does it cost to acquire that customer?
Advice:
Jon's dad's friend, Steve Gribble told him to hold off on getting an MBA and go get some real life business experience. Surround yourself with good people who are doing what you want to do. You become who you hang out with, so choose carefully.

This week, we are pleased to welcome Alex Changho of Enrollment Dojo to the show. Alex helps entrepreneurs in martial arts industry grow their schools and streamline their business.
Inspiration:
Since he was a kid, Alex knew that he would teach martial arts as it was a big part of his life. After partnering up with his instructor, Alex ran a martial arts school for 11 years. Eventually he realized that he wanted to make a bigger impact on the world and help others with what he had to go through as a martial arts school owner and an instructor.
Challenge:
In the early days of Alex’s business, his main focus was primarily on selling tools to help martial arts entrepreneurs. The customers would subscribe to his service and not see any success. This persisted until Alex started helping his customers to work on their mindset and helping them to define their purpose.

Having that experience helped Alex realize that creating and selling tools alone was not his calling. He figured out that his true purpose was to teach people and help them get more out of their business.
Passion:
Today Alex is very passionate about helping people out and seeing results. He is excited to see his clients achieve success with their martial art schools and take them to new levels. Alex plans to create a new movement of like-minded people within the martial arts industry with a mindset of excellent service and the ability to make a good profit at the same time.
Advice:
If you want to be the best, you have to be the best you. You will never be best somebody else. Be un-apologetically yourself.

Also, surround yourself with like-minded people.

Liz Brazier is a productivity and accountability guru whose mission is centered on working with entrepreneurs. Her motto is “it’s finally time to figure out how to get the right shit done!” She brings her message and tools to the world through her company, Live Your Life Now. Liz, a native of New Zealand, has spent over 13 years in corporate America, and over 23 years cumulatively in the corporate world. After 23 years, Liz decided that it was finally time to leave that world and create one of her own, where she can have the freedom to "live her life now!"
Inspiration:
As a native of New Zealand, Liz’s family, namely her parents still live there. During a recent trip back home, she realized how lucky she is to still have them in her life, and she wanted the freedom to be able to be there and travel, but still come back to her new home in the US. After being empowered by reading Danielle LaPorte’s The Fire Starter Sessions, and this realization from her trip, Liz knew she had to make a change.
Challenge:
After quitting her corporate job, Liz had to figure out what  her message was, what unique qualities that she could brand. Another challenge was one that Liz feels effects so many people, is how to stop listening to that negative voice in your head that tells you "you can’t".

She quickly determined that using what made her so successful in her career is what so many people need help with: accountability and productivity. Though joining a mastermind group with like-minded people, she found the tools she needed to calm the negative voice and create her brand.
Passion:
Liz’s passion is to work one on one with her clients providing accountability coaching and 60-day productivity “rebooting”. Using these tools, her goal is to launch a 2nd podcast called “Get The Right Shit Done”, and for the next two years to be filled with speaking, workshops and her ultimate - live events. She would like to be known as THE Accountability Coach for Entrepreneurs to help everyone live their lives now!
Advice:
“Be yourself, everyone else is taken” by Oscar Wilde truly sums up how Liz feels about her journey from faking her contempt with the corporate world where she felt like she was trying to be someone else. Once she decided it was time to stop and no longer worry about being someone else, she realized her true self, becoming much happier in the process.

None of us know what we are doing. Well we do to a point, but all of us have fears, doubts, challenges and uncertainties that compel us to compare ourselves to others, making us inadequate. In reality, we are all just trying to figure it out and we are all dealing with these same things! You just have to keep moving forward.

It is incredibly important to not close your mind and discount the knowledge and experience you already have from your previous experiences, whether it is from the corporate world or otherwise. Apply the skills and knowledge you have already learned in your business.

Everyone, especially entrepreneurs, underestimate the time that they have, they think that they have more time than they actually do. There are 168 hours in a week, when you take out working and sleeping you have just over 60 hours to get things done. Manage your time wisely.
Entrepreneurs Resource:

Today, we welcome to the show Remy Chausse. Remy  is one of the best “Unstuckologists”, who works with women in becoming unstuck with their lives. She is the creator of the “Get Unstuck Revolution – Extraordinary women with big ass dreams who are ridiculously unsatisfied with status quo...” and best-selling author of Living Life as an Exclamation Point. At one point in her life, Remy realized through research and looking for help for herself, that all women get stuck, but it is her calling to help them to “Find the calling that has been placed on their soul, and ignite their own revolution”.
Inspiration:
One day as Remy was out walking in her neighborhood, she realized that she was stuck, stuck being abused by both her pastor (who was also her husband) and her church. In navigating this "spiritual injury", she realized she was playing small.

Remy started looking for help, researching, talking to therapists, life coaches, you name it, she tried it. She also realized that it doesn't really matter how you get stuck, people just need the help to get out. This revelation inspired Remy to help others to become unstuck and to realize their true potential.
Challenge:
Remy experienced three huge challenges that she had to overcome. She feels they add up to these three important life lessons:

You only need one next step, while some days you are going to take multiple, every day you have to take at least one.
You must believe in yourself and in your dreams. There will come a day when you will find your calling, and once you do, you cannot dream too large or dare too much! You just have to believe in that dream.
You always know what’s right for you, you just must make the decision to nurture yourself instead of always nurturing others.

Passion:
Today, Remy is very excited about her Get UNstuck Expert Café. In the past, when even Remy herself had gotten stuck, she needed more than one person, one expert’s perspective. With Get UNstuck Expert Café, she has brought in multiple experts to give their perspectives on how to get unstuck.
Advice:
Learn how to protect your energy. If you are in a relationship, business, personal, or a friendship, if that person drains your energy, it is time to start protecting it. This is your only true natural resource.
Entrepreneurs Resource:

If you have a team, let your team do what they are supposed to do.
Trello is a great free, creative project management system for you and your virtual team.

Looking Back:
Looking back, Remy wishes two things: for her business younger self, she wishes that she had started right away with building her email list early! She also feels that because her confidence had been at an all-time low, she waited and built her foundation first. For her personal younger self, she wishes she hadn't wasted so much time on toxic relationships. Remy knows that even though everyone that comes into your life is there to teach a lesson, she wishes that we could just do without the toxicity of those relationships!

Today, we welcome to the show Greg Hickman, the creator and host of Mobile Mixed, a mobile marketing and consulting business. During his career as a marketing specialist, Greg worked with smaller agencies, as well as big brands like Pepsi and Wal-Mart. He also tried his luck with a consulting company, which eventually turned into a software business that did not see much success.  Later, he started Mobile Mixed show that evolved into a successful business.

Inspiration:
Coming from a mobile marketing background, Greg did not know exactly how to launch his online business. That is when he discovered blogs and shows like Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income and Internet Business Mastery that help people get started with and run their online businesses. After starting Mobile Mixed, his success grew exponentially.
Challenge:
As many online entrepreneurs do, Greg struggled to find time to do interviews and to work on his business while working long hours at his daytime job. Greg had to make countless sacrifices in order to keep his business going. Even his relationship with his fiancée suffered during that time.

Luckily, Greg’s employer saw value in what Greg was doing with Mobile Mixed and so he was able to allow for some flexibility in his work schedule as business started picking up.
Passion:
Today, Greg is very excited about building up additional revenue streams through consulting and running a mobile marketing related membership community.
Advice:
Taking the entrepreneurial leap always comes with some risk. Each of us needs to figure out what we can do to manage that risk as best as possible.

Entrepreneurs, and/or great leaders, need to find comfort in uncomfortable situations because that’s where the breakthroughs happen.  When you start feeling that discomfort, push through it. It should be your beacon. Also, have faith that it is all going to work out.

Remember, if someone else is doing it, great! That means it can be done. And if no one else is doing it, you can be the first.
Entrepreneurs Resource:

If you are running an online business, a virtual assistant will make your life and business much easier.

Adam Urbanski is a marketing strategist and mentor who works with coaches, consultants, and service professionals. Adam came to the U.S. in the late 80s, unable to speak English and broke, to follow his entrepreneurial dreams. After years of hard work and passionate mentoring, he now calls himself the “Grandaddy of Marketing Online."

Inspiration:
Adam came to the U.S. as a polish immigrant carrying only $194 in his pocket. What he did possess in abundance was a passion for sharing information with others and a hunger for more, which led him into the world of business.

While running a successful restaurant business, Adam realized that his favorite part was communicating with others and teaching them how to become more successful. This revelation inspired Adam to create his consulting business.
Challenge:
After selling his multi-million dollar restaurant business to become a consultant (at the age of twenty-nine), Adam quickly ascertained that he did not fit the typical image of his profession. At that time, competent consultants were expected to have grey hair and wear three-piece suits.

In order to overcome this obstacle, Adam hired a sales coach to teach him the skills that would ultimately set him apart. It was only when he adopted the sales psychology and confidence to ask for big bucks that Adam started seeing massive results.
Passion:
Adam’s passion is to continue his vision of awakening people to possibility and opportunity through building a highly successful business and turning it into  an educational empire.
Advice:
Be smart enough to ask questions… and then shut up and listen.

If you want to be successful in business, find a need and fill it. But if you want to be filthy rich, create a market and control it. In order to achieve the highest level, you have to build, and actively grow, a following.

It is important to remember that there is always someone out there that is hungrier, has a bigger vision, and is more attuned to the new technologies than you. If you are not asking yourself the question, “How do I disrupt the industry?,” rest assured that they are and they’ll put you out of business sooner or later.

Even though it may sound counterintuitive to how he was brought up, Adam swears by the words once spoken to him: “The less you do, the more you make.” Realize your zone of genius and focus on that - let other people help you with everything else.

Cate Stillman is the founder of Yoga Healer, an online business that teaches yogis how  Ayurveda can enhance their lives. Cate believes that in this age of hyper-stimulation and hyper-connectivity we must not only take care of our bodies, but also our minds.
Inspiration:
While practicing Ayurveda and teaching yoga in San Francisco in the early 2000s, Cate took her first online yoga course with Sally Kempton, a famous meditation and yoga teacher.  Shortly after, she realized that if someone else could run a yoga course online, she could do it too… and even improve certain elements of the business model.

In 2007, while pregnant with her baby girl, she taught her first yoga Living Ayurveda course. After receiving some pretty positive responses, she brought her most successful classes to online market; her business grew exponentially.
Challenge:
The biggest obstacle Cate experienced when starting up her business was trying to do everything on her own.  Building a supportive team not only strengthens a business, but it also helps keep a passionate entrepreneur from drowning in the details.

Another setback Cate experienced in her business was not having systems in place for crucial tasks. After hiring an online business manager to be the interface between her and the team, she was able to get back on track and free up more time to do what she really loves.
Passion:
One of Cate’s most earnest hopes for humanity is they begin to truly feel their connection to every part of nature. Her tagline “Dandelions are the new kale” expresses this desire for people to recognize the nourishment offered, even in what most people consider weeds.
Advice:

John Lee Dumas is the founder and the host of Entrepreneur on Fire. It is a top ranked business podcast, named “Best in iTunes” in 2013, that generates 450,000 unique downloads a month. On his show, he interviews inspiring and successful entrepreneurs 7 days a week.
Inspiration:
At the time John started his show, there had never been a podcast that interviewed an inspiring successful entrepreneur every day of the week. He knew there was a void that needed to be filled, and thus Entrepreneur on Fire was conceived.
Challenge:
While seeking advice from others before the launch of the show, John was told countless times that a daily podcast would simply not work. Hearing that discouraging message from his mentors, he felt paralyzed with fear. He had to muster up the courage, put “blinders” on, and push through the resistance to get the podcast released... after delaying the launch date three times.
Passion:
John is super passionate about serving his amazing community. He loves listening to their needs and giving them exactly what they want.

Out of this love of serving his audience, another passion of John’s arose - “Webinar on Fire;” it is a step-by-step program on how to create, present, and convert webinars.
Advice:

Don’t let fear stop you from doing great things. EVERYBODY feels fear, but only successful people push through to the end.
Get a Mentor. It is much easier to accomplish your goals with the guidance of someone who’s been there before.
The two most powerful words that will shuttle you to success: Just Start.
Doing little things every single day to get closer to your goal will have massive results down the line.
Always be in the position to take advantage of the next opportunity.

Entrepreneurs Resource:

WorkFlowy is a simple, but powerful to-do list tool.
Schedule Once is a great tool for scheduling appointments with other people.
Google tools for most of your business needs: Google Docs, Google Drive, Gmail.

Blogs, Books & Podcasts:

The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
Ask Pat Podcast

The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear and Take Life to the Next Level by Gay Hendricks

Looking Back:
If John could go back in time, he would tell his younger self to stop stalling and launch his business sooner. By delaying his podcast launch five weeks, he pushed his progress back five weeks; John sees this now as a $100,00 dollar mistake. If he could wave a magic wand and change one thing, he would have taken his own advice and just started without over-thinking it.
